History

nicstage was founded in 1992 in Biel under the name “Nic Stage Amp Productions” by the rock band “Groove Lords” and sound engineer Dominic Trees. Under this name, the collective organised and promoted, alone and in collaboration, many concerts and festivals. The rental of its own acoustic system to small to medium sized disco and concert events throughout Switzerland was also an important part of its business.

The founders parted ways in 1994: Dominic Trees kept on with the rental of live and sound technology as “nicstage.com” based in Biel, where the company remains to this day. The band broke up and Louis Schornoz led single-handedly “Nic Stage Amp Productions” in Bern for years. With the website nicstage.ch, he has, since 1999, been offering a platform for his own projects and those of other bands and musicians or micro-label “nicrecords”.

In 2007, a second label was added to “nicrecords”: Pro Stata Records, Warzawa, Polska“. In 2016, Louis and André Schornoz founded their own recording studio called the Caliber Club 2.0. On its anniversary year, in 2017, publishing, labels and recording studio were all divided and each got their own website. ”nicstage.ch” continues to exist as a publisher and primary platform.
